Milo Lockett Displays a Special Selection of Works in American Express Art Space

Under the 11 th edition of Gallery Nights, American Express offers a new proposal for contemporary art. The American Express Art Space exhibit works of Milo Lockett, who in turn will be present during the night of the event to present their proposal. Milo Milo Lockett Lockett was born in 1967 in Resistencia, Chaco province. It is a self-taught artist who began his career after working several years in the textile industry. His first signs Chaco began in 1996. Their referents are in the works of Jorge de la Vega, Nigro, Maccio and Deira. In a short time managed to create a pictorial identity that made him a hit record.

This exposure arises from evidence: a number of contemporary artists revisit episodes and figures of national history. The review of the past as history, stories and crannies and its visuals, is an increasingly incisive activity for recurrent number of local artists who work with very different procedures. A pantheon of heroes is the place where we honor the "Founding Fathers" (as opposed to mothers), but also a mausoleum where they lay, inert. To a large extent, the survival and activation of these figures is by means of credible and material representations, images selected and scattered monuments, paintings, prints, books and manuals. The title of this exhibition refers to the pompous patriotic imagery that looks (acidic, sometimes) of contemporary artists into question. In their works, delineate particular histories, plural tested alternative representations, distort, quote or engage the icons of our history. That shredding native representations of the past is only possible if you understand the story less as a great feat organized as a story from a selective tradition of heroes and key events.
